Circa. 1889
Post-impressionism/Cloisonnism

The yellow Christ is often seen as a central example of cloisonnism art. Cloisonnism art is where objects are painted in bright colors, models are simplified and flattened rather than complex and where the boarders of objects are surrounded by a strong black outline. While a short movement, cloisonnism art had a major impact on modern art and even on the styles of today's modern comics and animation.
