And Ostrowsky remains Ostrowsky. Ostrowsky's remark about the Grey Guys beaming everything over the TV fits in with their being able to view everything, everywhere all the time. In the sequel it's mentioned that the aliens are never breaking a fourth wall because they are recording everything they do and they're only commenting to the camera on their ship. How Joel and the robots manage to see this stuff is because they're getting the beamed messages too.
