Attempted Fishmath
Author notes
#8 - The End of Summer Vacation: Watch It Bend
Beaums onOH. EM. GEEEEEE!!! Look at what we have here! Colour! Glorious, glorious, COLOUR!! That's right ladles and jellyspoons, your eyes don't deceive you, you are witnessing the latest issue of Attempted Fishmath in vibrant colour! Ah, 'tis a joyous day for me. Attempted Fishmath is entering the world of coloured webcomics, and now has the chance of ranking up to the likes of others. Maybe now you guys will actually stop and read this comic instead of passing it by, due to its dull-looking black and whitness.
I am also pleased to announce that this the very first webcomic I have done in colour! Mmmhmmm, I kid you not. I was always one to shy away from these fancy, new-age artistic techniques, but the editor of Youthink Magazine INSISTED my comics be in colour for the new school year, and I wasn't about to turn him down. I was going to try colouring a comic with my pencil crayons at first, but then I thought that I might as well break into digital colouring now. I mean, I was going to have to eventually, and my Adobe Photoshop Elements wasn't really being used to its full potential. So yes, this is my very first attempt at digital colouring in a webcomic. Please be kind, as I am still experimenting with the whole medium, and I have much to learn. (I'd especially like to learn how to make the whole colouring process go faster, this comic took me for freakin' ever!)
So yes, please enjoy. It took a lot more time than the previous Attempted Fishmath comics have taken. I think it turned out alright though… It's simplistic colouring, but it works. But get used to it, because I'm pretty sure the editor of Youthink Magazine is making sure that everything is printed in colour from now on. The September issue of Youthink hasn't even been published yet, so I'm not even sure if this particular comic made it to the newsprint. But I sure hope it did, I went to great lengths dammit! I climbed mountains! Swam up streams! Fought bears! All metaphorically speaking, but still!
This issue of AF doesn't come from anything in my life really, I just made the whole gag up. I guess it just sounded like something my friend Will would do, so I thought it just fit. I don't know… I guess I just really like Fishmath's chair. I want one just like it! You know, the kind of chair only meant for yourself, where you can read or sit and pet a cat, all the while cursing your nemesis like so many stereotypical super villains do. That'd be sweet.
Don't drink too much coffee,
Beaums
