#9 - Back-To-School Commercials: Do Work

Here it is, issue numbah nine. Man I gotta say, I'm still getting used to the fact that this is a colour now. Everytime I view this page I find it hard to believe that it is actually MY comic staring back at me. Come to think of it… that's pretty sad. But no matter! I'm proud of my pathetic colouring job and I'm sticking to that, regardless of how many people say otherwise! You can't bring me down! You can't shatter my dreams Captain Buzzkill! 'Cause I'm gonna let my spirit soar!

…Wait, what were we talking about again? Cauldrons?!

Anywho, this comic is my way of expressing my rage for the back-to-school commercials. I really hate them. Seriously. I want them obliterated in a fiery hellstorm of death and suffering. Students only get just over two months awa from school, and within one month they're already trying to drag you back in. I mean, school already takes up like, what, 8 months of the year? How many more freakin' months does school need? I know it isn't the school behind the majority of the back-to-school ads, but still! Tell the major corporations like Staples to COOL IT with the freaking back-to-school ads. No student wants to think about textbooks and calculators and learning during the summer! The avergae student wants to relax and focus on something that doesn't stimulate knowledge. Jesus Chroist. We just want our two months! Is that so much to ask?

By the way, that's just a TASTE of my back-to-school commercials rant. I could go on for ages.

And hey, calling all British Columbia and Alberta high school students! The September issue of Youthink Magzine has just been distributed, so if you see a copy in your classroom, give it a read! You might just see Fishmath starin' back at you with those big blue eyes of his! ;)

P.S. Do you think the living room chair Fishmath's parent is referring to could be that sweet blue chair Fishmath was sitting in last issue? Don't look at me! I'm asking YOU guys!
