RANT OF THE DAY

I've been to this PCC (Private Career College) awhile ago. Btw, PCCs are recognized by the government of ontario… but they charge ridiculous tuitions… cuz they are "PRIVATE" schools.

The thing is… their curriculums are straight to the point. No more beating around the bush on academic stuff… which you wouldnt really need in the workforce.

But… the admissions officer I talked to was just fucking rude… when she figured out that I only have $200 a month to spend.

I was originally interested in their Paralegal program… it looked cool… learning a bit about the laws of Ontario and learning computer skills at the same time. Its a pretty flexible program at the time of graduation as the graduate has ALOT of career opportunities.

Anyway, the program tuition costed $8000 something. FOR ONE YEAR

I didnt have $8000 so I negotiated on payin $200 a month like a financing option. And she was like… "THATS OUT OF THE QUESTION!!!" She was already raising her voice… in a rude manner.

I remained civilized and made another offer: What about doing only the office applications part? So that I would only pay half of that tuition… or a certain percentage of it?

The more she got pissed off… She just said "that is out of the question" over and over again like a stupid idiot.

My questions were straightforward and needed straight answers:

WHAT IS THE COST OF TUITION?
WHAT IS THE DETAILED COURSE OUTLINE?

She wasted 40 minutes of my time without answering my questions properly. Then with the guilt trip tactics… again that Education is an Investment bullshit…

I kept responding to her… that if education is an investment, some people cannot invest that much. She cannot seem to understand. She cannot seem to get that through her thick skull.

While before she learned of my financial incapabilities, she was all nice and constantly praised me and shit… that I'm smart and all that… but after she knew I can only pay so much, she just said its "out of the question".


And besides, that school was suspicious from the start:

1) small office in a small building - If they were so "well-established" and if they teach so much courses, why is it all in a small place?

2) Hot girl greeted me at the door - 10 seconds after I walked into the reception area, there was this pretty middle eastern woman in her late 20s or early 30s who approached me… coming from a room hidden from my view. She was all smiling and telling me that the school is the best school she studied in… blablabla… jabber on for 10 minutes…

and…

that she's goin to the washroom. (yea right)

Like wtf?!? She knew I was gonna walk in the door! And why will a hot girl (8 out of 10 on my scale) like that approach me just to tell me how good the school is? Arent girls usually creeped out by the thought of them doing the approaching? Girls only get the guts to approach guys if they have their friends with them. Unless she works for them and thats her job?

Cmon. I dont go to school to pick up girls… I go there to study. If I wanna get a hot girl, I'd go to the personal sites or to a party or to a fucking whorehouse.

3)"Testimonials" doubtful - Why do all of them sound so uber-articulate with dictionary words? Feels like they hired a professional writer to do that… or maybe they hired some 20 university students… pay em $50 to write a 1-2 page "testimonial".


Anyway, I'm never goin back to that school again. Fuck them.

(*I wont mention the name because I can get sued mentioning REAL names. You have 450 possible suspects in that link I posted… :) I ve read a story in the news about an employee who dissed his boss and other company brass… in his myspace… and he got fired for it.. plus a lawsuit.*)
