My friend's gonna have his first MMA (mixed martial arts) fight sometime in September. He told me the place he's going to… he said its mostly filled with streetfighters (a good number of em are ex-cons), people who know bits and pieces of BJJ and muai thai, and people who never fought or trained before… but just wanna fight. NO FUCKING PROS or BLACKBELTS!!! (Um… tho its hard to measure up an experienced street fighter… they have no "official" fight record… but God knows how many fights they've been in… and how many they've won…)
He's the same guy I talked about in a previous rant… I sparred with him on many different occasions and we're more or less at the same skill level. Win some, lose some, whoever gets lucky. Fights are about luck too. anything can happen. bad position, lucky punch or kick, bad fall… everything can mean a big difference on who wins or loses.
Though I admit he's the braver one for being brave enough to sign up for a fight. Three things can happen to him there:
1) He gets COMPLETELY SMASHED. Total domination. Maybe he will end up in a stretcher or a wheelchair… I hope not. He's not some arrogant fuck who I wanna see that happen to…
2) Good fight with someone barely winning or losing or draw…
3) He totally destroys his opponent.
If he totally destroys his opponent… maybe I might sign up for a fight at that same place… I dunno… maybe if I wanna give a chance to those people who always give me shit (alot of em are supposedly "family")… A chance to see me get humiliated or ending up in a stretcher… yeah!!! Or maybe not… if enough people care about me. There's this good fighter I know who refuses to fight in those things because he doesnt wanna give his wife and child a hard time worrying about him and all…
So wish him luck…
