putting social-political content in a comic is a risk factor.
I dunno about that…
But I know… that after reading alot of comics here @ dd, there are quite a number of comics that are LACED WITH PROPAGANDA (though in a discreet way). It is pointless to blow the horn… because the propagandist can easily defend himself from multiple angles… easily deny accusations, then easily counter-accuse.
Even if they use discreet propaganda (DP), I can sniff em a mile away. :) Doesnt matter if you use the cover of a fantasy setting to mask it. I can still sniff it. lol
Basic formula on HOW TO create DP: - Make x characters into idiots or assholes. - Make x characters into all-knowing, and capable, and reliable, and always there to be correct, and always there to save the day… or just make em one of those smart, calculating badguys… hey! isnt it "cool" to be one of those smart calculating bad guys?
Where X = race/religion/ideology/country/place of origin/gender/sexual orientation/etc… :)
There are other methods in making DP like using decoys and similarities (in the case of fantasy ones). The only way to counter DP is to use DP.
DP is an art of concealment and delivery combined. The object of the game is to disarm the target's defenses while changing their mode of thought at the same time.
his is pretty much the most effective action sequence I have seen i a long time. it makes me want to go and kick someone in the face.
There must be something out there. I've yet to make a fight scene where two combatants are fighting in one panel doing rapid simultaneous attacks.
So far, I've made one attacker and one defender in one panel. Not one panel with both parties doing an attack+attack pattern.
Somebody post me a tutorial or link to a comic who has done that. thanks. :)
