Transmorpher D.D.S.: This is just a quick preview of the Patron-funded series, Side Dishes, which runs through our Patreon. Obviously, the patron version isn't censored, but I didn't want those who contributed to feel ripped off by having the product that they paid for shared with everyone else who hasn't been able to donate. The comic is guided by the patrons almost entirely… readers submitted ideas and it was put to a vote for which direction the series would take. I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that something a little out of left field got voted up as the first story idea… it's basically a whole new comic with the vampire hunting angle added. If you're interested in seeing more there are already two more pages available to anyone who contributes even a dollar to our Patreon, and the comic will continue to update every Sunday.


I just wanted to talk briefly about why we chose to pursue a comic funded through Patreon. Until recently I worked a day job in retail and only did art occasionally as a freelancer. But I wanted desperately to get out of retail, especially with Christmas again approaching… I was tired of hating the Holiday Season. For most of my life this time of year was amazing and liberating, but when you work in retail odds are all it means is that you'll be working three times harder for the same paycheck with customers who have even less patience than usual. It means stress as you struggle to fit in the demands of work and social life with your family. It means literally fearing being trampled to death by other human beings on Thanksgiving, because that's apparently when Black Friday happens now.


This is the first Thanksgiving I've actually enjoyed in years. Working on this comic still isn't a "career", but I hope that it will be soon. Between this and some freelance writing I've been able to get I managed to escape the world of retail. I'm still not making enough to live off of, but hopefully we're getting close. I want to thank all of you for helping us get this far… Patron or not, just knowing that there are people out there enjoying this messed up dickgirl comic we've been producing makes it all worth it.
