Aaand we're back! Apologies if upload time was a bit weird this week, but the clocks change for us in the U.K. ahead of our U.S. readers and I neglected to adjust for that. Hope everybody out there had a good Hallowe'en. As I probably not-so-subtly hinted in a previous author's note, I absolutely love buildings with bonkers architecture (if I were a braver man I'd take up urban exploration, and if I were a richer one I'd visit as many that aren't closed down and probably haunted as possible). Here we join Adrienne as she visits another mainstay of the town. I really wanted the bookshop to resemble a set of over-stacked tomes that very much reflects the cluttered state of the interior. The old-fashioned brass till on the counter, and that utterly massive bell above the door, evidence the almost time-displaced nature of the place, and indeed the town of Barkham as a whole. I'd also like to extend my thanks to manymari for this great picture of Adrienne! —Scott D.
