Until the last minute I thought there wasn't going to be an update, but I motivated myself and took the pictures.  Right now the photography for all the scenes outside of the Grey Gal saucer is done.  I have that set up and have designed three simple redresses of the same basic set for the various chambers.  They're on different floors stacked upon one another in the center of the saucer.  Now why does this suacer have pens and notebooks rather than neat little e-pads?

Because the progress of technology isn't necessarily linear and there have been constant regressions.  Nearly all planets make paper and ink, but many don't make e-pads and those that are made aren't usually compatible with one another. You just can't get a part for a Fruit e-pad in a solar system dominated by Macrohard.
