I'd been practicing this very pose in other sketches for a while now, and while I hadn't really meant to make use of it here, I didn't really see a reason not.

I think these are some of the more detailed backgrounds I've done, but that's not really saying much. I'm still not really going beyond sight of what I think is comfortable, but I'm sure it's just going to be upwards from here, as far as backgrounds are concerned.

I know I've covered before the feelings of Joel here, when he expresses some surprise at Mary's words. Check back to chapter four, act one for Dani's spiel on just this subject.
