Crazy Candles

Okay. This event was both hilarious and dangerous in that "don't do this at home" sort of way.

Matt and Christine (who by the way kept asking to be in a comic) made some candles that had notes in them and intending on lighting them up. I thought this project was pretty cool, until the fire burnt the wax enough to get to some of these messages, which sent smoke straight to the smoke detector.

Fortunately, that thing really works! Unfortunately, that thing really works and is REALLY LOUD! So we tried blowing it away, raising the fan up to it…as you see me doing in the comic.

But the combined forces of each candle, their messages all caught in flames, the fire was rising. So Matt did what anyone who wasn't aware of any close fire estinguisher would do, he got some water and poured it on.

Though, the only way he was going to get a mass amount of water would be to use a pan…a pan that unknown to anyone present…had a decent level of grease in it.

The fire kind of exploded to an enormous height, smoke filled the room, the detector blared above me, Christine opened the doors and windows to let the smoke out, and Matt smothered the fire with the pan until finally the fire died.

…after some time there was some laughing.

….but while the fire was going, my feet were ready to run.
