I wish I had a crazy dream like that! But sadly no, that was all done with good old fashion awake and alert imagination. This comic just came from the true to life tale of Cindy having to check on my fire alarm. She said it was beeping, not a "there's smoke in the house" type beep, just a kind of low battery beep.
