In my early years, 8 was still an evil number (a bit of a stretch). No matter how early we woke up, eager for christmas presents, we had to wait until 8 to be able to wake up the parents.

At least I'm pretty sure it was 8.

If I'm wrong, I'm confident my sister will post a correcting comment.

And if that's the case, I'm going to blame it on the fact that I just want to find any reason to hate that number. I'm okay with that.
