Not It

There are mainly two strange decisions on this comic strip. The bright colors and Tracy.

The first one was the background with the "easter egg" rocks. I started out with the background with the orange and the pink stripe and thought that was an interesting combination and when the orbiting asteroids were added it felt like a really nice tribute to the ridiculous brightly colored theme that was the sci-fi of that era. That inspired me to add in the assortment of colorful stones.

Tracy was another strange part of this comic. I haven't really hung out with her in a long time, so this comic was kind of like me living vicariously. Her hair grew since the last comic she was in (10-18). That's because the last time I saw her, she had her hair down and I realized that I've been drawing her with pretty short hair for some time. It took me a while to come to this conclusion.

Another strange part about Tracy being in this comic is that it took me a while to decide who the "captain" of this gag was going to be. The other choices were Wayne and Rick. I wasn't really convinced on Wayne, but I thought that Rick as Kirk would be pretty funny. But that's when the nostalgia of hanging out with Nathaniel and Tracy started sinking in and Nathaniel is the perfect Spok and Tracy is a big fan of Star Trek. Not the Kirk years, but still a big fan.

I rambled a bit in the author notes tonight.

I am tired.
