Looks like the G.O.O.B. is recharged. Lunessa doesn't look too much the worse for wear. But Celeste's tendrils are re-growing! Astra is done running. She is ready and willing to fight and GOOB isn't around to subdue her with flailing tentacles.

How do I get those poses?
The boots the figures are wearing actually snap into a peg on a stand. These ladies can be grounded well. Except when their ankle joints snap off. It's a ball and socket joint with interchangeable feet. So move it too much to a side and it snaps off and the figure tumbles over. That's where stands come in. I have a pile that fit around the waist with wire and others that support the figure under the crotch. Between the two I can balance a figure into some extreme poses.

I have yet to do a pose where a figure wouldn't balance long enough for me to snap a picture. Occasionally I have laid the figure flat on the surface of the table and shot it from overhead, but they usually balance. Then in editing the stands are removed. I have some I painted green and blue to make it easier to remove them.

I have a few interchangeable hands so the figures can hit with fist or open hand. And in the next couple of pages we'll see some grappling. These are pose-able figures so trying out different positions is fun. The figures make valuable sources for drawing anatomy too and can make it easier to visualize foreshortening. These are better than the traditional ball jointed artist's figures since they are double jointed so the legs and arms can bend around and they hold a pose much better.

Traditional old style G.I. Joe's were basically the classic ball jointed artist figure with a few extra joints. As such they're really easy to fix, disassemble and such and there's a couple of on-line vendors who specialize in them. Cotswold Collectibles is one. :gijoeelite.com another great one was Old Joe Infirmary which as the name suggests started out fixing Joes. He had a huge following and branched into lots of medical accessories and outfits and then female figures. I've used a lot of his stuff in previous productions. He has an Ebay store now Oldjoeinfirmary-ojiand is steadily rebuilding the business. Look at his "Lia" head and notice its resemblance to Lunessa. fembasix Lia blonde undecorated.

I painted her face and well as restyled her hair but it's her.
