Note some aren't being too careful and are leaving the spike and knife embedded in the thing. It comes back, pull them out , allow for some hemorrhaging and then bash it again.

He's going to stay dead. I really hate the whole Once is not Enough trope. You kill something– it's dead and it stays dead. Unless there's a damn good reason for it not to be dead. And this GOOB just wasn't designed with resisting blunt trauma in mind.
