And then he shatters him. Deliberately. Note the pacing: all the stuff happening on the last page (=last panel), just to show the weight of this scene! My god, I was a storytelling genius even way back then ;P
No, seriously. This format, a panel a page, would be something I consider worth exploring. After I saw Eisenstein's "Aleksandr Nevskij" a few days ago (and created an example page in Styles), I am convinced that a comic with just one panel or two per page, many long shots in which the individual can't be seen, just the mass, with very little dialogue, could convey a completely different feeling of space and time, of serenity, of slow time; something we're lacking in this accelerated world. If I just had a convincing story…
