II. ARCENIC pages 35-39
JillyFoo onHEARTS GAINED: Yeah so this is what I decided to spend my creative energy on all year. I still have more pages to photoshop and letter. Just the tiny bit of shading I do takes a while.
POISON RESISTED: Why call this chapter Arsenic? I'm going with a poison theme due to the polluted wasteland this comic is about.
Did you know there is a place in France called the Red Zone? It's an old battlefield from WWI that is closed off because there are still lots of poisons (one of the chemicals is arsenic), ordnance and dangerous weapons still buried there. The general public is forbidden to enter.
Other fact: Arsenic was once used as a preservative for the dead. It was used around the mid 1800's. It can be a modern day problem due to old grave sites(in the USA, Civil War graves) having leaking arsenic in its soil.
