It's clear to see that Toshubi has issues with the feline race. Sort of a semi justified predudice. Toshubi isn't a perfect character, and this is one of his flaws. To him, the only good feline, is a dead one.

The other thing I wanted to point out was the difference in religions.
Betsy and Jessica believe in the God Gaia. Toshubi believes in The Great Spirit.
Gaiaism, is viewed very simular to Christianity, You die, and if you've been good and said your prayers, you get to go to paradise for eternity.
The Great Spirit is viewed simular to Buddism, you die and you will be reincarnated to live life again from a different perspective. (On the page, "I hate it when that happens" the two big cat Budda statues are supposed to be representations of The Great Spirit.)
