A bit more on magic here…

The level of skill and power to walk through a solid object in this world is very difficult! What you can't see is that Jullia is leaning against the wall in her room, drained by the energy she had to put forth to defy the law of physics that says "Two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time."!

In this world, the mage has to put forth a-lot more energy to make the more impressive spells work. It's just the way things work here. But there are loop holes… Magical items can be made by mages to store magical energy so they have something to draw reserve magical power from in a time of emergency.

Something else… If a character from another comic that uses magic were to come here, they would find their powers "watered down". For example…

Gogo from Magical Misfits is a VERY powerful wizard in her home comic. But if she were to come here, she would find that her powers were "watered down". She would still be able to use magic and still get the expected effects, but the power level of her spells would be weaker than she would expect. So while in her home comic, she would be able to lift 20 tons of matter with her magic, she would only be able to lift about 800 pounds in the Blade of Toshubi world. (The locals would be quite impressed by the way.) Gogo might think something is wrong with her powers while she were here, but in perspective she would still be a very powerful mage!
