Info: Henry Kissinger is a proponent of Realpolitik, a theory of politics that focuses on considerations of power, not ideals, morals, or principles.

Kissinger worked at the original 1968 Paris Peace conference between North Vietnam and the US. It has been suggested that he was Nixon's inside man at those meetings and thus helped undermine Johnson's attempt at getting a peace treaty in 1968. The war dragged on for almost 7 more years. More of the 58,159 U.S. soldiers died after 1968 than before.
