By the way, 'pucker factor' refers to the level of danger or risk in a mission or any situation, really :)
Also, to become an ace you'd need to have at least five confirmed shooting downs of enemy aircraft. If it wasn't confirmed or it wasn't certain that the plane really was shot down, apparently they didn't count it in your score.
