Revamp thumbnail sketches

I wanted to share with you guys the thumbnail sketches that'll eventually be drawn up into Photoshop and made into real comic pages. Yes, as you may have guessed these are for the revamp… pages 1 and 2 have already been done (2 still needs cleanup). Much of the time put into Bruised Oranges pages nowadays is mostly planning and composition, once that's done it's just a matter of cleanup and detail-work. Before I just improvised everything right on the page, now I'm seeing how drawing things out and planning beforehand works. It certainly saves me a lot of time and aggravation so I definitely plan to start getting in the habit of drawing thumbnails in my sketchbook!

As you can probably see, things are going to work out a bit differently in the new pages. Looking at how much content I've covered, paced out better, and added and removed, and how much remains to be drawn, it looks like I will need to add at least one extra page to the revamp. I got a little burnt out after finishing the page 7 thumbnail, so I'll work on pages 8 and 9(+?) later tonight or tomorrow – as well as finishing up the finalized edition of page 2 tonight. And when I finish the thumbnails for these, I'll get started on the chapter two thumbnails. I have a lot of ideas for that chapter that I need to get out on paper. :)

What do you think? I like them a lot better than the original pages, myself. I'm trying to focus more on the "show, not tell" aspect of comics and storytelling and I think it'll work out a lot better.

(Yes, my hand-sketches are horrendously messy! Especially when I have to draw a lot smaller than I'm used to. Hopefully they're easy to understand!)
