Hornet and Firewing are fairly recent creations of mine. I think they're both from this summer, around the time I started drawing issue 2 and was beginning to design everything with black and white in mind. Maybe that's why they're so much fun to draw - with some of the older characters, I always feel like I have to work around the fact that their color schemes are missing, but these guys were always meant to look best this way.

Also, I have no idea why Hornet is such an irredeemable boyscout, but some characters write themselves and their voice just comes out a certain way, and that's exactly what happened here.
