I spent the better part of this weekend teaching myself how to letter in Adobe Illustrator, and good LORD am I loving it. The first few hours were frustrating, of course, because it was all so alien to me, but once I got the hang of it, I completely fell in love with it. Gone are the days of shitty elliptical word balloons with anchored-lasso tails, and don't even get me started on how much easier it is to do effects like the KA-RAK in panel 3 here.

In fact, I'm going back and relettering the rest of issue 4, and I'm thinking maybe I'll do #3 as well.
