Nah, not really. Just another cast member. And no, she's not an alien; not completely, anyway. It's just that the colonists of the planet she was born on had intermingled with a native species and…well, eventually the colonists and the natives became indistinguishable.
And yes. She beat the crap out of Eli. He is in pain.
