Menu did not shift into another plane, but it seemed like it to this demon for just a moment.It unsettled him for reasons we'll get into later! This demon guy's been around Kellwood before, he knows the score now that he's got himself back together. And I'm well certain you get the implication it's not Samrick keeping him out of the city!
And yes Menu is making a 60's Batman's Robin-style ADD stretch to get from "vanishing (from) plane" to "invisible (jet)". Interesting how in the 90's it was the "cool" kids that read comics but now pop culture acts like it's the realm of nerds? And I mean reading the comics, because obviously the movies and superheroes as icons have mainstream appeal.
