What Soma is going to use is a duel item crash, using a soul, so it turns out to be a duel item soul crash. It's a mouthful, but that's the type of attack it is. You'll find out what the crash dose next page.
What Johnathan is using is a duel tech. The thing is, Johnathan and Charlotte have about six or seven duel techs. Which one will they use? It'll be shown next page.
This strip is mostly to set up the next part of the battle. Even so, it took hours to make. Yes, HOURS.
Also notice that the ground under Johnathan is dented. It's a small detail, but man did it take time to make that.
Most sprite comics take a series of sprites, then slap them on a background and add text. I do that with regular pages, but in battles, I take the time to add the details and effects. I also make custom backgrounds for some of the regular pages.
