I have fond memories of the series and was determined to unearth my copies. A fun (re)read and a notice to the reader to expect the unexpected…especially appreciated the artistic choices and experimentation Simonsen brought to the comic. I'd plunk down dough to have the completed TPB on my shelf.

I read all the issues together! Thought they had REAL charm.
#5 is your best issue yet. You are becoming more confident stylistically
by the issue. Enclosed is U.S. $$ for a subscription beginning with issue 6 (which sadly ended up being the last issue)

There’s no denying it’s good. the story telling techniques and panel to panel transitions are quite sophisticated. You manage to get a lot of expressive movement out of that little box-like robot. I sometimes wonder, if i didn’t draw comics or have some other creative outletwould life be worth living? going to work each day, paying bills, what a drag, man. but perhaps there are enough simple pleasures…enjoying rainy skies, or the color of dirt or whatever to make life livable? How do all the poor slobs survive? alcohol? well, in any case, I better not quit drawing and neither should you.
I would say that the void, the open whiteness of the page is a great asset for your story, don’t fill it all in black or cross hatching or something…however, i do think a little more physical presence to your line would be helpful. Afterall, the character does seem to be making an attempt to stand up against
being swallowed. yes? No?

Thanks for Captain Zap #1-4. it is unique and you’re doing a great job!
Right away your subject matter has a strong appeal to me. My whole adult life has been based on self determination, many if not most, want to be told what to do by some “auhtority”.
Your art is lovely, crisp, well realized. there’s a dynamic simplicity to your sequential story telling that’s quite appealing. I love how captain Zap defines his mission in the second issue.

Don’t let Captain Zap fool you - there are some very complex themes
lurking in Oliver Simonsen’s simple story telling. Simonsen just may
be opening up a philosophical can of worms - and i plan to be there
when he does!

It’s nice to see a creator doing something in a different style and not
following trends.
