My mom snuck up on me while I was inking the last panel and yelled that exact line, thus nearly giving me a heart attack. Sneaking up on me while I'm working isn't hard, seeing as how I'm usually listening to music (Megadeth today) and can tune out the whole world to focus on whatever I'm working on.

She also commented that my characters tend to have foul mouths (even though my language is usually quite clean [especially around my parents, seeing as how I still instinctively pass everything I'm about to say through a mental filter around them]). I've tried explaining to her the fact that my characters have their own personalities and will react to whatever situation I throw at them in their own way, and that changing anything about them to appease some silly taboo would make them unnatural and awkward to write for, but non-writers just don't understand that kind of predicament.
