Max accuses Cameron for being a tool for showing a bit of school spirit. Mako only reinforces Max's point.
This was kind of taken from a personal experience, or thought process. I went to 2 colleges, one for a Associates, the other for a Bachelors. High honors, all A's, both times thank you very much. Not that it's doing me very good. Even so, I was never one to be really into the specific school spirit. What i mean is I was quite happy to go to college, but I didn't care about the school name, sports team, rally's ecetera. Just that the college was good, and I'd be getting a decent education. So naturally I wasn't willing to shell out extra cash for a shirt, or a mug emblazoned with the school logo on it. I was already giving the school enough money, so certainly I didn't want to shell out more as well as advertise for them.
When going to my second college i began to soften to the school spirit idea, and grew a sense of pride in going. I also ended up recieving two free shirts from the school which I wore and still wear on occiason. I was actually starting to get really happy just being in that place for my 3rd and 4th year. So in this Max sort of takes the roll of "to cool for school spirit", scorning Cameron and Mako for being so jazzed up about wearing school paraphenalia.
