The Promise...

I remember being a kid and thinking that there would be no way that anyone I knew would die. That everything ended happily and everyone would be with me forever.

Then I started noticing people in photo albums that I had not seen but my parents were friends with. I asked where they were and I was told about death.

After that I asked my parents promise not to die. Only unlike Trades they told me that everything dies one day. They explained it so it made sense… or they thought it made sense and I cried for a while before something came on tv that made me laugh.

Though right now… it is better to tell Toddy a little lie then to force the weight of the world on him right now.
