THIS is why a ship's crew should be divided into proper "watches" and not all or mostly asleep at any one time. But Vigilous, being no mariner, obviously didn't think to hire proper ship's officers to organize the crew when he put this operation together; he assumed that his senior henchmen would have it all in hand (but they aren't sailors either). That omission is about to cost him dearly.
