The who would win segment is probably one of the most beloved segments we've done. They're my most often linked to comics. Be that as it may, in the 250+ CAP comics this is only the fourth or fifth match-up I've done. We have a pretty high standard for which of our "Who Would Win" conversations actually make it to comic format. I want to say one out of a hundred actually is usable.

This comic took a long long time to put together. We were storyboarding it for weeks, just to get the flow right, to get the joke solid enough, and to get it to lead in properly to the next comic. We cut alot of stuff that was "kinda" funny, but just not funny enough. It was 4 panels, then 12, then 6 then 8, and ended up as 9 (including the dead panel, and I LOVE dead panels when they get the pacing on target.

Incidentally, Chuck is the most difficult character to complete, he has the most detail.
In order of finished model difficulty it would have to go Chuck, then Becky, then Nate, then Chip, and Ryan is the easiest to finish. But thats completed model. Just drawing, Becky's the hardest( just because I have more trouble with the female form than the male, too many curves, then Chip (funky headshape), then Ryan (not enough detail so if he's not symmetrical it's pretty clear), then Chuck, and Nate is the easiest (narcissistic me draws it more than any other character).

I also wanted to mention that Ryan in panel 6 looks more "anime" than usual. Although it's not too surprising. When we initially started the comic in 2002 we all designed our own characters, and I ran with it from there. Ryan wanted his hair to look like Gohan, and his eyes to look like Tycho. Later on we developed the evil snakeyes for his character too. It's why theres some drastic differences in our character models. It's why, for example, Chuck's mouth often goes off the side of his face.

Phew, long post today.
