I have three main loves in comedy. First is dark comedy, stuff thats funny because it's not. The last comic had some, but you see more of it in the completed comics that I've gotten done. I've latched onto it a little more than I used do. Granted, I've always maintained it a little, what with the monkey killing and all, but it's something I think I've gotten much better at. Second is random comedy, something like sealab or aquateen. The problem with that is that theres a very very fine line between random thats funny and random thats just stupid. I'm still perfecting it in my own writing, but this is one of the "random" comics that I think came off really really well. It still makes me laugh. The third is wordplay, or oldschool comedy. Marx Brothers, Three Stooges, Looney Tunes, Hope and Crosby, Chaplin, etc etc. I don't get to use it very much though, Ryan and Chuck usually nix it, because most people probably don't get it, I have to sneak it in in asides when no one's looking.

Anyway, I'm planning on starting commenting on other peoples comics more. I want to improve myself. Because I READ alot of comics everyday, but unless I have something specific to say I don't usually say anything. I'm going to start dropping more of the 5 with no comment, its my way of saying "I was here and I appreciate what you do" even if I don't have anything specifically constructive.
