Interesting Fact: Almost from the very beginning Apple Computers has been at war with Apple Records, a record company founded by the Beatles, over the name. In 1991 they seemed to have reached a settlement in court, whereby the record company held the rights to use the name on "creative works whose principal content is music, while Apple Computer held the right to use Apple on all goods or services…used to reproduce, run, play or otherwise deliver such content" - but not on physical media. The war broke out again in 2003, when the iTunes record store was launched. Apple Records retaliated by refusing to license the Beatles' discography for digital sale. And while the two companies have managed to reach an agreement over the trademark, and the ex-Beatles' solo works have been made available on iTunes, the digitally re-mastered Beatles' catalogue has not.
