Interesting fact: Soleus - the muscle on the inner side of your shin - is a slow-twitch muscle. It's resistant to fatigue because when you're in an upright positiion, it's always tight, which is what keeps you from falling over. This durability is what makes the soleus a tough muscle to develop through exercise. Gastrocnemius - the muscle at the back of your shin - on the other hand is a fast-twitch muscle, capable of short-term extreme effort, but prone to fatigue.
