Interesting fact: Mars bar was "born" in Britain, in 1932. Forrest Mars rented a factory in Slough, where he and twelve co-workers began making the nougat and caramel bars in chocolate coating. They were to be a sweeter version of the American Milky Way bars (not to be confused with the European Milky Way bars), which have been successfully sold in the US since 1923 by… Frank C. Mars, Forrest's father. Seventy years later, in 2002, Mars bars were discontinued - only to be re-launched in 2010.
