10/15/2010 - Trashing the Hotel Womb

So all last week, our baby has really started up with actual kicking! Not just tickles anymore! And it always seems to take it out on my poor wife's bladder. I haven't been able to feel the kicks yet, but we can definitely hear them whenever we put the doppler microphone thing on her tummy to listen to the baby's heartbeat, as it really seems to dislike being prodded at with it. You'll hear the sound of the heartbeat, a "SHOOM SHOOM SHOOM" sound, then all of a sudden you hear this "GRSSTKSTKSTK" and the heartbeat either gets fainter or goes away completely, as the baby tries to move away from the microphone. It's funny, and also amazing to experience every time.

I still find it incredible that there is a whole other life in my wife's tummy :)

@TheFuture hahaha oh man, that sucks/is incredible at the same time. But now you've got me a little worried that they'll mess up the sex of our baby now! Hopefully tech has come a bit further since then so there's no mistakes :P

@ayesinback I think we're just way too excited to find out what it is to wait. That, and we really want to get a head start on furnishing the nursery (as well as decorating it) and getting clothes :) But I totally agree, I'm sure everyone is pretty much on the same excitement level when it comes to having a child :D

@Alwinbot My wife decided on that nickname no less!! Hahaha it's amazing. She jokes that when it's finally time to go to the hospital and have this baby, she going to say "AUTOBOTS, ROLL OUT!!"
