It is the time period known as Chronicaust. There is much hardship because the world is ruled by a phsychotic king. The only thing that stands between him and complete control over their world is the group known as the Katans. They are the rebels and do not follow his rule. The Katans inhibit his power and destroy his resources. Only the elite and heavily trusted can call themself one of the few. This story is about a boy who does the deadliest of tasks trying to earn their trust and rebel against the demented king.
