I hate to admit this, but Chrono Redux was my first RPG, so I didn't know I was supposed to upgrade weapons and armor. I think I occasionally did the weapons, but I kept the bad armor during most of my first few times through.

Needless to say, I didn't get all that far in any of the times I played. Oh well, I got to see most of the game through my sister playing it. Now I upgrade all the time.
