I don't know what Magus is, but I don't think he's a human. He's got the pointed ears and such. He may be an elf.
Which is weird because his sister and mom (and young Janus) don't seem to have pointed ears. I guess he got them from being around magic for so long.
Or maybe he made himself look less human so he wouldn't be killed by the monsters. (Which would explain why he's degrading the humans…he can still do it because he's still trying to pass himself off as a monster or whatever…to save face.)
