With this side quest, when you're walking around the the survivors of Zeal and the other ice age survivors, you talk to a woman and suggest she plants her plant. I (obviously) didn't show this.
Well, the game also allows you to go back and do this when it's time to do this quest. But again…I don't care to show it.
So it was off-screen some time before they hunted down Magus.
