LoorTheDarkElf onWould this be a good time to mention the elemntal system? There's a reson our Lady Pijami references multiple goddesses, not just one. And truth is, there is one god in the system as well… and nine goddesses, to make a complete set of ten.
There are eight basic elements; the elements that make up the mortal world. The classics of Wind, Water, Fire, and Air, and then Life, Death, Chaos, and Ice. A mage's element is defined by when they are born. First by season, and then by day or night.
Summer birthdays; Fire for day, Ice for night
Fall birthdays; Wind for day, Earth for night
Winter birthdays; Life for day, Death for night
Spring birthdays; Water for day, Chaos for night
Then there are the two master elements; light and dark. Mages with this mark are both rare and special; it's a phanomon that occures when a child is born just at the moment of dawn's first light (Light) or at the moment of the sun's last light before night (Dark).
A mage's branding is shown on the right hand; the element of their brith shown clearly on the back. On their palm, in balance against their element, is their 'mirror mark' or the oposing element to keep them in balance.
AAAAAnd now I'm gonna shut up. Cause I like explaining this stuff WAAAY too much.
