Y'know this has nothing to do with the comic, but I was thinking as I was coloring this. Why do so many black comic book style characters have electric powers. It almost seems like a ridiculous stereotype. Well, in all fairness half of them were created as replacements for Black Lightning who nobody can seem to license outside the comics.

Anyway, on topic, Tech's design is really patterned after me. Now some people have assumed that Jax was, but it really was an attempt to create comic book characters I can idetify with. Hendrix used to be based on me too. Tech just straight up is. His original design looked something like Kuumba from Monster Hunters with skates. Somehow he started turning into this old superhero I used to draw based on myself called Ninja Josh.
