Rainbow Trout - The Artist of Light - SM9 Head of Security and Naval Operations

When I was coming up with this menagerie of mutants to fill out this team of mine, after I had decided that the unifying theme of them would be that they are all elemental powered, I started to think of various elements that I could use for super-powers, and then I tried to think of various animals that I could apply those powers to. I tried to match up the elements to animals based on their habitats, or behaviors. Rainbow Trout here became the mutant with the element of light simply because of the fact that he is for all intents and purposes a rainbow trout. I took some artistic liberties in his design however, but that's the idea plain and simple. This design shown here is also a more recent one, and has become his official look from here on out, the original design had him sans the glasses and on his head he wore a large glass bowl filled with water connected to tanks on his back. The wet suit was also very different. However, I eventually decided against that idea since it seemed like too much of a handicap to the character, and later remade him to just be amphibious and added the sunglasses as something that would not only make him look cooler, but also could be functional in that they protect his eyes from the intense light from his power rings. ;-)
