Sinister Smiley

Originally, this character's name was "Mr. Flashy," to go along with his business, "Flashy Enterprises." He was named as such because of his design of looking something like a pimp in "flashy" clothes, and he wasn't even intended to be related to anyone else in the Smiley Family, he was just another character that looked like everyone else with the yellow skin and a funny face based on his personality. In this case he was given a scary kind of jack-o-lantern face with a goatee to indicate that he was the bad guy. Later on though, as I began to refine and develop things about the history of the family and their world, he became the uncle of his two goons, Smart and Stupid, and the brother of their father, Sick Smiley, with his name being changed to the much more appropriate, "Sinister Smiley." The name of his company remained the same though as did his general look.

I don't really have an explanation behind his alter-ego of "Mr. Moonstar" as far as the general design goes, I just came up with something that I thought looked cool with some classic comic design elements, and was sure to keep his snazzy hat as a defining feature even though it gets a complete color change to match the rest of the outfit after his transformation. The name "Moonstar" is of course a play on words from the word "monster" and comes from the source of his powers, the mystical moonstars.
