Ok, so I got a comment to try using more organic/natural speech bubbles to save room for dialogue so it wouldn't overlap the art. Turns out, that idea really worked out really well. In fact, it even gave me more freedom to make the speech bubbles match the style of the comic itself. Let me know what you think of the change. Thanks again to Brock for the suggestion!
