Dart turned out to be a very different character than I first planned. Originally I planned him to be more of a likable, roguish type. When I wrote the dialogue for his first appearance I couldn't really think of anything exact so I wrote his lines as a stream of conscious, what I got made him seem creepy. That's when he started to develop some rather villainous traits. At this point I knew I couldn't characterize this guy as a straight up hero. This combined with the fact that I wanted to humanize Higgins a little more made me decide to make Dart and Higgins related. Also, again you guys should make Off Hours filler! Without things like birds and stray cats city scenes seem a bit empty, and crows are one of the few birds that stick around when it's cold out. But then again I prefer things to be open to interpretation so the crow's an omen if you want it to be! @Warped: I like to think that I have some humility about what I do. Unfortunately I sometimes tend more towards self-deprecation than I probably should. @Peipei: HaHa! I find it funny that my first three comments all mentioned that Madeline shouldn't smoke! @Trevor: I don't know that I'd agree that black and white is harder. Color comics have they're own set of complications. To do a really great color comic one has to take things into account like whether colors should have a warm or cold bias, bright tones, earth tones etc. I'll admit that the reason I decided to go black and white was so I'd have less to think about! @amanda: Yes, I'm so glad that the site seems fairly stable now. And thank you muchly for all the kind words. Don't worry though, you still have time to do a filler. And even if you don't you're in my second filler page!
